A lesson one might take from your post is that the EOS R5 makes whatever lens one already owns look better and it is likely not necessary to buy a new lens. I admire your work. I use "EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM +1.4x III" and also the 2x III for a long focal length with the EOS R5. So far, the only non-Canon lens that I use with the EOS
There is this compatibility chart for the 1.4X extender III: Canon Extender EF 1.4x Compatibility Chart. It is most definitely compatible with the F4 70-200 lens (I used to use this lens myself before upgrading to the 2.8). Image quality with the Canon is really quite good, and AF wasn't really affected too much. OP.
As the 70-200 f/4L is compatible with the Canon Extender EF 1.4x II and the Canon Extender EF 2x II, these are popular accessories for this lens. With the 1.4x, the 70-200 f/4 becomes a 98-280mm f/5.6 lens that retains excellent image quality (adding more barrel distortion and some additional CA).

I'm now considering the purchase of a Canon RF 100-400mm for use with the R7. I can (and do) use the Sigma 100-400 on the R7 (with the EF-EOS R adapter), but I'm thinking of getting the Canon 100-400 to use with the R7. One major reason is weight: The Sigma lens weighs about 2.5 pounds and the Canon weighs about 1.4 pounds.
I find it as sharp as my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II, so I am quite happy with it. Bokeh is quite nice, too. Here is the real news - the Canon 2X Extender III does not fit. When attached, it squeaks a bit and I took it no further. Since that TC fits on the Sigma 150mm Macro, I had hoped it would fit the 180.
Other Teleconverters. Canon Extender EF 2x III - Pros & Cons. Closeup performance was similarly appealing. image quality holds up very well. image quality from the Mark IIIs are better than their predecessors. this is quite a nice boost in flexibility. build quality The build quality is excellent.
The new Series III extenders have improved optical and electronic contacts and the enable faster responses from the lens. The 7D II is one of the few cameras that allows the use of a 1.4x and 2x extender with full use of AF and exposure information transfers. The newer series III extenders has a more ivory-white color to better match the newer
