The first thing i would do is find a garage with a Lexia & have the sensodrive & injection ECU's updated with the latest software version and then re calibrate the clutch & gearchange auctuators. Just to rule out a problem with the gear 'lever' (actually an electrical switch) have it in neutral & unplug the lever/switch then pull the downshift gearchange paddle twice, This is the back up to get it in reverse if the 'lever' fails. It's worth a shot before splashing out on a new ECU. When calibrating the gear & clutch positions on EGS & Sensodrive gearboxes I always connect another running car to the vehicles battery with jump leads, if you don't & the battery is the slightest bit weak the process more often than not fails. Annoyingly, all the best ones all have the EGS gearbox. I am curious to know just how bad it is - most of them seem to have been totally reliable. I know Davie had horrors with his Sensodrive in his C2, and others have had issues, but are they *really* that bad? There must be plenty of them out there that work.
